Nest Protect

The smoke alarm that thinks, speaks and alerts your phone.

[video_lightbox_youtube video_id=”METDdcmklVE” width=”640″ height=”480″ anchor=””]

The alarm goes off and your
mind starts to race.

Where’s the problem?

Is it smoke?

Burned popcorn?

It’s time to expect more
from your smoke alarm.

Nest Protect has been redesigned from the inside out. It has a Split-Spectrum Sensor, tests itself automatically and lasts up to a decade. It’s also the first home alarm you can hush from your phone without any extra hardware required. And it tells you what’s wrong and can even alert your phone.

Meet Nest Protect. The smoke alarm other alarms look up to.

Thinks, before it speaks.
Nest Protect has a friendly human voice that gives you an early warning. That way you can handle burning toast before it becomes a burning toaster.
Tells you where the danger is.
And when one speaks, they all speak. So the alarm in your bedroom can tell you there’s smoke downstairs.

It’s on your ceiling.
And on your phone.

In the 1970s, it would take about 30 minutes for a fire to take over a room. Today, it can take less than 5.
Sees both fast and slow burning fires.
The foam and particle board in much of today’s furniture make fires burn faster. Technology should keep up. The Split‑Spectrum Sensor uses two wavelengths of light to detect smoke from both fast-burning and smoldering fires.
Over 1,000,000 homes in the US experience high levels of carbon monoxide every year.
10-year CO sensor.
Carbon monoxide is poisonous but you can’t see it or smell it. That’s why Nest Protect has the most accurate type of carbon monoxide sensor available. We also improved our carbon monoxide sensing algorithm. And we’ll keep working to make it better and better because people depend on it.

Thoughtful, not annoying.

Test itself

Lights your way

Steam is not smoke

Tests itself: You’re supposed to test smoke alarms monthly. But 9 out of 10 people don’t. So Nest Protect checks its batteries and sensors over 400 times a day. And it’s the first alarm that uses Sound Check to quietly test its speaker and horn once a month.

Count sheep, not chirps.

No one should be woken up by a low-battery chirp at 2 a.m. When you turn off the lights, look for a quick green glow. That’s our Nightly Promise. It means all your Nest Protects have tested themselves, the batteries are good, and there won’t be any chirps. Sweet dreams.

In love

Bought 5 to replace house’ original wired dinosaurs. The directions to set up/install were clear and concise. There’s also a step by step video. In love with ALL of its features! From alerts to your phone, a human voice before alarm to the very fact that it can tell the difference between steam and smoke. I finally feel safe, and no more wondering what that little blinking light means!

Peace of mind

I have two pets at home, and I always worry about fires when I’m away. The fact that the Nest communicates with my phone no matter where I am gives me so much peace of mind. And that’s doubled by the fact the Nest detects carbon monoxide as well. The product is well designed and the set up was very easy. Highly recommended.

Easy setup & neat extras

Thought this was just going to be a good CO2 and smoke detector but found the extras very nice. This product talks to my doorbell, thermostat and smart light switches. It recognized my system components and walked me through the setup. Super easy to install and “smart” out of the box. Also really love the pathway night light feature.

A Nest home.

Nest products are made to work together. And they can even work with lights,

locks and other products in your home.

Heating systems can cause carbon monoxide leaks or spread smoke through your home in a fire. In an emergency, Nest Protect tells your Nest Thermostat to turn off the heat to keep the danger from spreading.
